Since business people have been claiming they can't hire more because of the insecure tax
and regulatory climate do they now have to start hiring people? Or will they claim the climate is still not right for hiring? I mean does the GOP really want employment to improve before the 2012 elections? We know that when the baby boomers start to retire in the next few years the employment picture will improve but how will the GOP and their business groupies play it?

Personally I can see them dragging their feet on employment because they don't want obama to win in 2012. They will say that unless the tax cuts become permanent they will not be able to increase employment... or until spending has been drastically cut or something...

1. They like things as they are
Wage pressure from high unemployment coupled with both increased productivity from scared workers and record profits building up huge cash reserves, no tax cut is going to sway them to hire more right now.

Only direct stimulus to the middle/lower classes and a federal works program to lessen unemployment will effect hiring, as the added economic activity would drive consumption higher, resulting in a real need to increase their workforce.

But...... the WH and Congress doesnt have the balls to do either of those things and risk the ire of the already happy business community, so it wont happen.

2. I thought they were going to use the $$ to clone
customers...since there will still be no demand, with no $$ circulating in different hands then those that hold the $$ now...

3. Business community is happy as is ... they have no incentive to hire more people, just
take the tax benefit and stay business as usual. Others, take the benefit and invest it, why hire anyone. It's all a fable. Businesses have figured out how to do more with less, employees are a pain to have around. We're moving into a new model for the 21st century of employment creation, but means being used are traditional, now this because all stops have been pulled out with meager results. The old formulas aren't working. Demand is low.
