The Senate has long been useless. The President has demonstrated a penchant for triangulation and, now, outright work with repubicans while cutting out the Democrats. The House was all we had.

And now that is gone, too.

3. Vote count was down dramatically here in Ohio. 40% less than in the last off-year election

which was 2006.

Ohioans are going to pay big time for their lack of interest in voting. The ones that need the most, stayed away from the polls.

With large Dem majorities in both chambers.

The same will be true going forward, although I expect less fight out of Senate Dems.

with rule changes and re-districting and trick after trick they are unashamed to perform in order to get more power. How else can a tiny minority rule without effective challenges? 19. I've been thinking about this quite a bit in terms of now

Especially given that we only have a short time of having a Democratic majority, yet the major item being pushed is an agreement with Republicans.
And apparently, there's little support being shown from Obama about having the Senate stay in session to try to push through other bills.
