How important is this tax issue to you?
Personally, I will be looking elsewhere. Most likely, there will be nowhere to go? I will be a Party of One.

I feel like I have been played for a fool. In the end, they always side with the corporations and the big taxcuts and against the people. I cannot support such crap.

I do not buy the excuses about unemployment or the middle-class taxcuts being the reason for their votes. That is their excuse for pulling the wool over our eyes once again.

But, no more.

1. Very Important to me.

I really can't afford to pay more in taxes next year.

I don't really care if the top 2% get an extension too.

2. The important ones were long ago for me.... all the time poverty has been forgotten, and ignored
right here on DU, I realized I was a Party Of One.

So, Welcome. I've been on that spot for a long time now.

3. I think it's important on its own merits, but also...
it's important in that sense of the straw breaking the camel's back: "Really? Is there anything you'll draw the line on?"

13. The top 2% should be paying 100% more than they now pay.
It would be fair and it would boost the economy for EVERYONE. nt

5. not particularly
it's a joke, when the real issue is deductions which overwhelmingly favor the very rich.

When they have to work so hard to try to sell this as a wonderful plan one
knows for sure it's flawed.

10. I don't think the rich pay their fair share, but sticking it to them isn't my raison d'etre.
I'm generally more worried about my own circumstances. This bill will slightly improve my family's circumstances, at least in the short term.

11. Extremely important. It's not simply an unfair tax scheme...
...which is important to all of us, but it is also a "vindication" of failed economic policies that began with the Reagan tax cuts and "trickle-down" economics and were continued by Bush and the GOP in 2000.

If this "compromise" is passed, it will only give credence to future unfair economic/tax policies that will further destroy America...

12. I believe that the passing of this tax bill is the clearest indication yet
of just how far the rich have gone in the complete takeover of America, particularly the financial component. nt

14. It really isn't as much about taxes as it is Obama's credibility
He ran hard on doing away with the tax cut for the wealthy. He lectured America about how detrimental it is to our fiscal integrity..Then he folds...I can no longer believe a word he says.. That is what is so wrong about it all...
