6. I'm probably the only one with this outlook, but....I come from Montana and....

my grandparents raised Christmas trees on their land - planted in nice neat rows just like planting corn, etc. - and they didn't get all that much money for them, but they didn't require irrigation or very much fertilizer or really even all that much attention compared to some other crops.

When I see a Christmas tree like that, I don't think "another tree gone" I think, another farmer surviving another year.

(Just read this year, 98% of Xmas trees sold in the US come from farms.)

7. They grow like weeds! I bought two little live ones at Safeway

a few years ago and planted them here at the ranch. They're huge now! Biggest trees on the place.

8. Come to western Oregon.

Christmas trees are what's happening here. We cut them, thank them, decorate them and enjoy them.

another go around.

2. I heard something on the radio about renting a tree from a nursery

who deliver it (still alive) and pick it up (presumably still alive) after the season is over.


I assume it is potted, but didn't get any real details, just that this option now exists.
