Shameless promotion here -- found this wonderful link:

2. It's a pretty amazing picture.
I'd like to know more about the context. Thanks!

3. I don't know anything more, sorry.
But I can tell you MY reaction: I love the symbolism of something women do, women's "work" so to speak, turning something that's an instrument of war into something far more benign. I think it's up to women to stop this war, and perhaps all wars.

5. I've seen that. Awesome!
There were the Knitters Against Bush, too, but that group is defunct, I think. I still use their slogan, though. Then there were the "W is for Women" gals with their "Make Sweaters Not War" bags that I always wanted to get.

There are many subversive knitters. We are many, and we are pissed!

6. Maybe at the next big DC protest
we should stage a "knit in?"

7. I would do my best to be there.
I've always wanted to go to a protest there but never been able to get to one. I'd bet that a knit-in would be huge if we advertised it right. :)
