Knitters -- one of our favorite, best designers needs our help
Annie Modisett. I don't know about you, but I have gained so much respect and affection for her as a result of seeing her on Knitty (tho I have a love/hate relationship with that show). I really admire her.

Now, I find out that her youngest child has a very serious health challenge, and she's asking a donation in return for downloading one hellava beautiful knit dress pattern. It's absolutely luscious -- quite possibly her best design of all time (so far) and it reminds me for all the world of Scarlett O'Hara, but it's called Red Carpet Convertible:

ALL of you, knitters and not, please at least take a look. The dress was worn by the unnamed wife of an emmy-award winning actor, one lucky girl.

2. That's a beautiful dress!
And from what it says at the link, it's her husband, Gerry, who has the health problem, unless I missed something about their son. Thanks for bringing this to our attention! :hi:

3. I know someone with "MM"
She was treated in Arkansas by a pioneer in the field.

Thanks for posting the link.

4. I donated a little bit, and got THE most amazing thank you from
Annie herself.

Longhorn -- you're right, it IS her husband, not her son. Thanks so much for correcting me.

5. Done. I've chatted with Annie on-line before, and she is amazing.
I'm taking one of her classes at Threadbear in August (before the transplant), and I hope to give her a huge hug. It's so not fair that this is happening. :(

6. Have you put it on your blog? Is your Knitty forum aware of this?
I kept trying to PM you to make sure you saw this, but kept getting distracted.
