Remove glue from back of tile
I have a clock made from a tile - hole drilled through center of tile, clock assembly inserted & glued in.

The clock doesn't work. I want to remove the works and put in a new one.

I can't find anything that will dissolve the glue. Do you know of something that'll do the trick?

Thanks!

1. Have you tried Goo Gone?
Is it glue or a hot glue in place?h
If it's rubber cement, you may need some paint thinner. THere area lo some good non-toxic soy adhesive removers on the market (google that..)

With tile, you really can't soak it as it is made from clay and sand, and could dissolve parts or all of the piece.

Good luck! Wish I had more to options to offer you...maybe someone else wil be able to give you good advice.

3. I haven't tried anything yet.
Don't know if it's done by a heat gun. I'll get some Goo Gone, have some paint thinner, and will look for the soy stuff.

Thanks!

2. it really depends on what kind of glue it is
I've had good luck with Goo-Gone for lots of glues,

if its a "superglue" or similar, they make removers for them, or nail polish remover (acetone) will work.

wood glue you may be able to soften by soaking in water, but that may damage the tile.

Nail polish remover is a possibility... and on hand.

Thanks!
