Hi everyone!
I stop by and read the posts here occasionally, but I thought I should formally say hi!:hi:

My mother sews so I suppose it was inevitable that I would be a crafty person too. I've been doing embroidery for years and years, and I've just started designing my own cross-stitch designs. A couple of years ago, my sister got me addicted to beads and beadwork, so I'm learning some jewelry making. I like working with seed beads, probably because I like the miniature work, but I would love to learn some of the wire work. I also enjoy many different papercrafts, including origami, some papermaking, etc., although I have absolutely no interest in scrapbooking (not that there is anything wrong with it, I just don't do it.)

Besides the real crafty hobbies, I am into photography and film.

In the past month or so, I finally learned how to knit - just the very basic stitch (I haven't even figured out pearling yet), but it's a huge achievement because I'm left-handed so trying to learn from the right-handed people around me has been difficult. I'd love to figure out more stitches and learn so crocheting too.

I think that's basically it. I think I've actually made myself sound much more accomplished than I am - I'm really just a dabbler in most of these crafts, with an interest in learning more.

1. Welcome :)
Knitting rocks, you'll see. Especially in the cold weather.

3. I'm really enjoying it
unlike most of the other things I do, it's really easy to accomplish while I'm watching tv or listening to podcasts. :)

2. I too am a multimedia artist
from digital composite/photo manipulation (photoshop, illustrator and such) to video editing and audio effects, to more traditional medias.

Beading (I also like seed beads for ornaments and other objects) to larger beads for jewelry projects.

I've been making paper out of all my junk mail (I've made some masks so far and hand painted some) I just shred and add to blender with water and strain thru a large tea strainer, then I just smash it into a mask that I line with old knee high stockings. They look a little rough but over all they look okay. I have some large angels wings (?) that I've been wanting to use as a mold. I thought those would make an awesome lamp.

I have also been learning to work with polymer clay. I have a pasta machine to soften it up to use, and I just bought a extruder but haven't used it much yet. I have some plans to use some of the designs it makes on some onyx hearts someone gave me to use. There are a lot of them to work with.

I'm also interested in making a mixed media collage of different objects and painting some of it and adding objects mixed in.

I can crochet although lately I have been making kitty toys for my new family of kitties I took in.
They were born to a wild mama and I tamed them to love me. Which they do.

I guess that's some things about me.

Seems like we have similar talents. Good luck with your projects. Having so many can be cumbersome, never knowing which one to pursue first and which ones to put on the back burner. My blog has suffered as a result of my last video project:banghead:

Thanks for sharing yourself and your interests.

4. I really like your ornament
my seed bead stuff is mostly bracelets/necklaces/earring kind of things - I'll post pictures later.

At the moment, just about everything is on hold until the Photography Forum Calendar is wrapped up. Then I'm going to be jumping headfirst into crafty presents for family members for the holidays.

:hi:
