Simple Beading Help Needed.
I want to dress up a chandelier and one lamp in shabby chic style. I have the beads, but I don't know where to start in terms of stringing them together. Specifically, since I'm a beading novice, what is the easiest material and method to attach the beads in a string (i.e., wire, thread, jewelry-like connectors) and what is the most economical method, i.e., using more stringing material vs. beads so I can use fewer beads and keep the cost down.

Thanks for any help on this.

1. will 'copper' match
your beads and lampshade? You can get inexpensive copper wire at the hardware store--or a craft store--easily bendable and looks good.

( I'm a 'beadweaver' and that's what I would use!)

(( check out etsy, you might get some good ideas---- I'm http://cigarboxbeads.etsy.com there, but I don't have any lampshades---I'm sure someone does and they usually explain how they've done something))

please post back when you get finished.

good luck

2. me again!11!!1
I just thought you probably want to put the beads around the bottom of the shade--I was thinking about what *I* wanted to do with an old lampshade frame---sorry ;>( (I'm planning to bead some wire and twist it around the empty frame of an old lampshade)

to put beads around the bottom, you can use quilting thread, or even fireline--which is fishing line, and either handsew it to the bottom or hot glue it.

now that I've thoroughly made a mess of the question---I hope I've helped somewhere!

:+

I haven't had any 2 buck chuck, either!

4. I suggest getting nylon coating steel wire you can get at
any craft store in the beads section. Also buy some crimp beads. I make fused glass wind chimes and bead the lines. Also you can get pretty crystals for chandeliers at www.crystalfreedom.com. I use them on the bottom of my chimes. Here's picture of how bead one of the lines on my chimes. If you have questions, feel free to ask.
