Here is a banner I just got done sewing
The banner is for my Brownie troop's International Day booth. We are doing the country of Turkey.

I bought a Twin flat sheet at IKEA for $2.99. The other co-leader bought the red satin and the white accent fabric (not sure how much she spent).

Here is the banner with just the flag sewn on.

Here is the banner with six of the ten tulips sewn on.

Here is the banner with the rest of the tulips attached.

We are going to use fabric paint to paint Turkey, our troop number, and the girls' names (above each tulip), as well as the stems for each tulip.

I am really proud of my work on this.

1. The applique looks very nicely done
Do post some snaps when it's all finished. So far, it's so nice and bright. The Brownies will love it.

How did tulips come to be selected to signify the girls in the troop? I'm not too familiar with scouting. A symbol for the Springtime, maybe?

3. You did a beautiful job! I can imagine the satin was "fun" appliquing!
Lucky Brownies! So glad scouting continues. It was a highlight in my young life.
