4. My husband is a professional woodworker
as well as a remodeling contractor, so he built a shop full of tools. However, I have never been bit by the bug, largely because whenever I got to "help," I ended up sanding! :(

Have you seen Fine Woodworking magazine? That and Fine Homebuilding are his absolute favorites.

5. My Father-in-law gave me a subscription for xmas.
He just retired and used to make violins from scratch as a hobby. He got me started gave me a few tools and I was off and running...

Makes my husband so angry, I also have the odd bookcase, table and dresser to show for it but all He sees is the mess.

10. Very nice, 133724!
How tall is your lamp?

I make sawdust, too. After being offended by the new furniture that I could actually afford, I decided to start making my own.

I'm totally self-taught (and, yes, "mistakes were made" especially since I design stuff myself. :+ )and so far have built a outdoor cart to use next to the grill, a toddler bed, closet storage units, a tall bookcase, a large, rustic wine storage cabinet for my DH, a daybed for my daughter and I just finished a lockable corner cabinet for my kid's video equipment and TV.

Here is a photo of my cabinet and shelf for games (and me..):

I'm currently refinishing the second of a set of four dining chairs, while I decide how to rearrange my woefully inadequate workspace. Then I'm on to a couple of big projects.

What else have you made and what kind of background do you have in woodworking?

:hi:
