Ever work on multiple projects at once?
I do it keeps me from getting bored.

Right now ..

I am building a 4 might turn out to be more like 5, foot paper mache statue of Sekhmet in male form. It is partly done,it is in a more natural stance than the formal egyptian poses do. The body, legs, feet, one arm, the sun and serpent that goes on her head is already done except for detailing and smoothing of the finish.. and the head and one arm is partly done.My mom had saved up a ton of paper,I had to do Something with it.

I am also painting my nightstand in psychedelic colors and op arty designs and it's almost done.I'll probably have it varnish and all done tonight. I miss my nightstand. I might do the chest of drawers in my room in painted the same wild way.

I am making a leather back piece for my chain vest which I have been working on for a long while ..It is almost done finally.I need to go to thrift shops and get a few cheep long black leather coats to scavenge the leather from to make the last part of this vest,( A long full part like a frock, that reaches my ankles)Which will be detachable.

I am radically altering the design of the vest. When I got it it was a traditional biker vest. It now has silver chains, looped through eyelets placed around the outer armholes,Lightning bolts in silver leather and small studs run down both the sides, I installed zip in/out silver leather sleeves with obnoxious long black leather fringe scavenged off other thrift shop coats, I cast 2 pewter Lion head conchas, put 'em,on the collar inner points, it's embellished on the shoulders with dragon claw spikes, round studs and pyramid studs. It has silver leather inlay on the collars in flame designs. And thebottom of the vest has been lengthened and tapered into a graceful point at the longest part in back center. The belt loops are studded and the belt is too..Under the tapered part are several snaps, protected by a leather flap that can be unsnapped , It's to hook the frock part to the vest,I did this so the bigger snaps for the frock don't scrape me when I wear the vest without the frock.I made the vest longer and pointed in the back because I am tall and I hate it when my shirttail hangs out of the back of my vest because the vest was designed for when you tuck in your shirt.I never tuck my shirts.I want the option of having it frock like..But in August it would be uncomfortable ,hence the zip out sleeves and snap off frock. It has been a hell of a project I have changed course a few times while making it..

And I am drawing a tarot deck over half the major arcana is done..

Anyone else doing many things at once here too??
Tell me about it!

1. If I try doing just one thing at a time, I don't get anything done.
And I end up with problems with my hands if I keep working at the same type of thing all the time. If I knit I also have to have a crochet or sewing project going. And...everything ends up getting finished.

2. I'm not happy unless I have at least 10 projects going at once.
It's a problem in that nothing gets done all the quickly, but it seems to suit me best.

4. I know the feeling
I always have at least 5 projects going. Just in case I get bored with one project, I can move along to the next!

6. Oh, no, I think there are many of us.
Maybe it's about boredom, but I prefer to believe that it's about needing to work on the right project for the moment. :D

16. yes, i'm the same way
as a knitter, but did it when i sewed too. keeps the boredom at bay. right now i have two sweaters OTN, and a pair of socks. one sweater is almost done. it's a kps topdown cardi with variegated handpainted brownsheep worsted. i actually can make gauge now - yippee! anyway, only thing left is 1.5 sleeves and the front bands, and finis! my purple cabled irish hiking scarf is complete (today!), all accomplished on the way to work on the train. another OTN is the central park hoodie made with berry bartlett wool. i'm about 1/3 the way up the back, but thinking of frogging it cause the yarn is hecka scratchy - it's unscoured. lastly, is my very first pair of socks. socks seem all the rage at the moment....not used to dpn's, but slogging thru...

peace

7. Always.
And for the same reason, so I don't get bored with it. I have a throw going, a scarf, a handbag, a bear and a sweater( in the early swatch stage). Sometimes it's more than that. When I get bored with the knitting altogether I go to the jewerlry making or something else like drawing or painting.

Your work sounds very creative, we would love some pics if you have the time!

8. Yup
Crocheting an afghan and also needle felting a puppet's head. I like the change up. And I think my hands like the change of pace from one repetitive process to another.

9. I always have several projects going at one time. When I get
tired of one thing, I'll pick up another. Eventually everything gets finished, although some projects have been known to languish for a while before I get back to them.

10. In every aspect of my life!
Glad to hear there are others like me :)

Right now, two dresses, a pair of pajamas, a shirt, two chairs and a visualization board. (I'm not even going to count my computer artwork.)

11. I always have multiple projects going,,,,
Right now, I'm quilting my Grandson's bed quilt.

I stopped working on that last week when my Husband had knee surgery and worked on a scrap baby quilt (easier to focus on)

I am assembling the fabric and deciding on pattern for a lap quilt for my Sister.

I cannot have my card making supplies & quilting supplies out at the same time, but while I'm quilting this week, I've been thinking about the 4 Birthday cards I need to make.

For me, having several projects in my queue drives me to finish one or two so that I can start the next ~ there's nothing like untouched fabric sitting there waiting to be cut & sewn :)

12. I'm pretty linear (I teach math!) so I prefer to complete a project from start to finish.
However, life sometimes interferes. So right now, I have an unfinished afghan from a few years ago (that I will probably unravel and begin again -- it's so full of mistakes!) and I have an unfinished afghan started last year that got put aside while I made wraps for my daughter's wedding. And I've done one slipper of the DU Crafts Group Crochet-A-Long. So yes, I have multiple projects going on but not by choice! :D

13. I have to - its the only way to stay sane.
I tend to have one or two "monster" projects going, that take a year or more to complete. Right now, its a cross stitch of Theresa Wentzler's Cinderella, a huge piece about 24"x36". If I were to tackle it all at once, I'd go crazy.

So I'll work on that for a week or so, till I'm fed up. Then on to something smaller and easier, so I feel like I actually accomplished something.

14. Well, let's just say that my crafting habits--
--are a lot like my political activism habits. LOTS of irons in the fire!

15. I have like 5 pieces of jewelry in progress and my first knitting project...
not to mention plans for several scrapbook layouts running through my head.

And I'm pretty sure I'm going out to get a bead crochet book tomorrow...

I have an addiction lol.
