HIV originated in chimpanzees in Cameroon, say scientists who analyzed ape feces in the wild to find the oldest simian version.

Until recently, it has been difficult for scientists to trace the chimpanzee version of the HIV, called simian immunodeficiency virus, to animals in the wild.

This study involved testing samples of droppings while trying to determine the identity of each animal and signs of the virus.

Up to 35 per cent of chimps in some communities were infected with the simian version of HIV while others showed no infections, the team reports in Thursday's online issue of Science Express.

The evil that men impose on other men is hard to fathom. The scientists insisted on using chimpanzees when other sources were available and then they denied using chimpanzees. Many of those scientists are still alive today and they are still lying. The administered an experimental vaccine on MILLIONS of africans who had no option not to get the vaccine. Denial continues not only because of embarrassment, for lack of a better word, but also because of the liability of the drug companies who administered the vaccines. Just as cigarettes were denied as the killing agents that they are, there is silence about the polio vaccine.

There is an association with the flawed polio vaccine which contained SV-40 simian virus.

It's also worthwhile searching Bernice Eddy on this subject - it was her efforts to publicise this that led to a witch hunt against her. Obviuosly at that time the word Aids did not to my knowledge exist.

As far as I'm aware the first known cases of Aids were late fifties and were postdate to the problems with the Polio vaccine.
