A question about HIV status and travel....

I'm planning on taking a cruise with a friend who is HIV+ in February of 2010. Someone I was talking to insisted that there were legal issues for travelling to other countries with HIV- Bottom line, he was rather adamant that it was totally illegal for my friend to travel because of his status.

I do recall this being something of the case some time ago, but now? My preliminary research suggests that it is different for every country, but for the greatest part- it's only an issue if you're planning to move to the country, or spend a long duration there. (For the record, this particular cruise stops in Curacao, Aruba, and the Bahamas.

Does anybody know the full story on this? Many thanks for whatever info you can offer!
