The resurrection - woohoo!
The rusty dusty dented and neglected bike is finally back on the road, after sitting for over a decade. This is the bike I bought last fall

And now it's running pretty good. There's still a long way to go, but it has some fresh paint (not a great job, and pinstriping is a major PITA), polished chrome with some pitting, and major cleaning of the dead old gasoline from various passages in the fuel/carb system. It's got new oils, in the six places that need oil changes.

Polishing the crash bars, here they are half done

Same with the mufflers

metal polish, steel wool, elbow grease, it's much improved but not 100%

5. Well, it depends on wheter she's a trailer princess or a real rider.
Not every item will ever be 100% on an every day rider.

7. "Trailer Princess", not exactly
It was brought home on a trailer, in a non-running condition.

It's still not running quite right, shakes a lot at idle. I think it still needs some carburetor work, could be bad floats, or maybe the carbs just need balancing. I have to do some studying up on the topic of carbs.

But at normal speeds, it's smooth and quiet, and has plenty of oomph for a 750cc bike.

Most of the chrome is "ok", just some pits. Only the crash bars have bad chrome, with the undersides peeling a little.

What's nice is that all the electrics work (after much re-wiring), charging system, lights, brake and turn signals. Even the extra lights (LCDs) I added to increase visibility, and the secret kill switch that will hopefully hinder the casual thief. These BMW's don't exactly have "keys" - a nail will start it.

I took it out for a about a 100 mile run last weekend, that was pretty nice.
