Oil tank for 1981 Harley Sportster?

If I cannot find a tank when I get ready to re-assemble this bike....I will probably hard tail the frame and drop a custom tank in it's place. I really like the old-school black, bobbed and chopped look anyway and could easily direct the rebuild that way. My initial plans are lowering, new tanks, new fenders, powder coating the frame and oil tank <----- this is where I am currently hung up at. If I find a tank, I will continue with this design scheme....if not....HELLO Bobbed Chopper! :)

I like the bobber theme too. When I'm no longer using my '99 for a long commute, it's going to get bobbed and hard-tailed.

Sportster XLH 1000......pic taken with cell phone - sorry about the poor resolution. Bike had been in storage for 10 years and just seen the light of day when this was taken....


as sad as it looks, this looks worse...
