A Ride to Cook's Corner
In Orange County, Santiago Canyon Road.
We had 2 no shows, Guy on a HP2 and Greg, who hasn't shown up at all, so we don't know what kind (if any?) bike he has.
So Matt on a new VStrom & myself. 78 degrees, and sunny, as predicted. Nice riding weather.
500 Harleys at Cooks. It's like a Harley dealership or something.
Then to lunch at Chili's.
Perhaps the last ride of the year. Now I've got to plan one more, or the first for next year. I need an overnight, preferably in a warm area. (No elevation).
(Mountains mean snow and ice, and cold.)

1. There are some nice desert canyons north of Indio
I don't know about the temps at this time of year, but it might be a nice ride through the area.

Getting there is mostly dull slab, but there might be some off-freeway routes that are interesting.

My two-wheelers are tucked away for a few months, waiting for the snow to vanish. Maybe if the temps get up around 40F ...

:hi:

2. Joshua Tree. They are looking at some rain this week, and next
weekend, and temps 29 to 55. Too cold for me. And thru' Joshua Tree natl park. Scenic, good for summertime.
Next weekend we are supposed to have some rain here. So I guess I'll have to wait.

3. The neighbors and I rode to the Rock Inn in Lake Hughes today.
Spectacular ride and they had a prime rib sandwich special. :9

4. I could go out Angeles Forest to that place. I'll have to do that
sometime. Looks like a nice roadhouse. I don't know that I have been there.

5. They have a webpage
http://www.rockinnusa.com/index.html

It's like 80 years old. Very cool. Darn good food.

6. I saw it. And see about the overnight accomodations. Maybe that will
be my overnight for the winter. I would like to go to a little warmer area, but not too much distance. I imagine Morro Bay is freezing this time of year. I like the ride to El Centro, but there is so much wind.
My favorite rides are about one day out. One day around, and one day back. But I like warm weather. Like Laughlin in August.
But on an off time when no one else is there.
