It doesn't get any weirder than this.
I just spent the last hour on some weird aviation website, and found this.

1. Odd coincidence!
I was at a flight museum last week, looking at old aircraft engines and telling my dad how much I thought they resembled several connected segments of v-twins. :D

2. Now we know.
That's probably how the v-twin was conceived. External push rods and common crank pin.

I'll bet that thing has torque to spare.

especially at idle. I wonder how he plans to cool it though?

on edit: Yes it is air cooled, but those engines are used to being mounted behind a propellor, often with a cowling to force air around the cylinders. They usually have a very large oil tank too, I wonder what he plans to do about that.

4. Jesse James has built one, too
His engine is transvere-mounted, though.

Jesse James' take on it, "Radial Hell", pre-paint:

The one you posted is JRL Cycles' version. Here's the completed bike:

5. Thanks! I wanted to see the other side.
I was wondering about the intake and exhaust. I was beginning to think it was just an art piece. Nope.

I somehow missed the Jessie James one. Wild.

But you'd need about ten gears to make the best of that thing.
