A few pics from bike trip
I took a couple days off and rode around the state a bit. Here's a few pics I snapped with my cell phone while I was out on the road. We really do have some pretty countryside here in Oklahoma. :)

1. Is that an 883?
Hard to tell with the full seat.

Nice view.

3. yep
it's a '99 883c. I was going to up it to a 1200, but the gas mileage is so good like it is I think I'll keep it as is for a while.

can you fill me in on the '883' thing and the 'upgrade' option? 883cc? how in the world do you 'upgrade' an engine?

6. That't the beauty of a Harley
there are more aftermarket and performance options available for HDs than just about any other bike.

The 883 and 1200 sportsters are virtually identical except for the size of the cylinders and pistons. You pull the heads, replace the cylinders and pistons with the 1200cc versions, rejet the carb for the larger displacement and voila, you have a 1200! ;)

That's the most basic version of the upgrade, if you want to get serious, you can go with Buell heads and cams, or an S&S "hot set up kit" etc. etc. etc.

S&S even makes an 89 cid kit for sportsters that includes a stoker crank. That works out to about 1460cc...on a 490lb bike

If you want to get into aftermarket, this is a great site to look at:
