Obama speaks to NARAL Pro-Choice America members

Well he waffles on "late term abortions" with some weasel words. It's also more or less a campaign speech, but he is running for president. For the most part, he sounds very good. I trust him to appoint appropriate members to SCOTUS. Here's hoping for a strong pro-choice VP pick

...(i.e. Alito and Roberts). Listening I was reminded he was one of the senators that opposed those nominations.

The part addressing late-terms:
I wonder how much of the language and word mincing around that is "politics"? Not wanting to "offend" those that believe themselves opposed to the procedure (though they really don't know the truth about it)?

It was interesting to hear his comments about women. I apppreciate acknowledgment that the present economic climate hits women hardest. Given economic hardships so common for women, access to birth control for women is vital--it's nice to hear a male in govt. acknowledge this. His comments about creating equality for women (and how having daughters factors into that) was refreshing. Particularly when one considers the obvious misogyny of the present administration. It's easy to forget that shrub has twin daughters, when you look at the all out war he's declared on women before he even entered office.
