Debunking article on bonobos in this week's New Yorker
Has anyone read it? I'm only about 2/3 done with it. It's well-written but seems to have a hidden agenda to kill this whole "peace and free love" idea once and for all.

1. To be honest, I think the bonobos' reputation is overrated.
I sometime see suggestions that relate human and bonobo sexual behavior. But everything I've read on bonobos and on the African Great Apes in general tells be that thier hyper-sexual behavior was an evolutionary specialization and that the common ancestor of the Human and Chimp-Bonobo lineages was basically like a bonobo in physical appearance (excluding the swollen butts found in chimps and bonobos), and like a chimp in behavior.
