At an LRT update meeting on Tuesday morning, councillors on the city's finance committee heard construction on the project is not even slated to begin until 2013. The completion date for the project is even further off — it's estimated the first train will be up and running in 2019.
For councillors on the city's finance committee, including Marianne Wilkinson, that's just too long to wait. "The longer we put these things off the more they're going to cost, and I have a great problem in things take so long to move forward," she said.
Coun. Rainer Bloess also expressed his frustration, claiming it took less time to dig the Rideau Canal. ............(more)
