Could your subway station be sponsored by a sandwich company?
It’s possible.
The TTC’s contract with its advertising agency, CBS Outdoor, expires at year’s end, so the system is seeking bidders with fresh ideas on how to raise money.
One is the possibility of selling station sponsorships — beyond the poster campaigns Toronto riders already see from broadcasters and cellphone companies.
In a cheeky nod to potential corporatization, the Torontoist website this week published its own version of the iconic TTC system map — incorporating the logo of a restaurant chain. ..................(more)
