Any advice on full tort vs limited tort auto insurance here in PA?

Any advice on full tort vs limited tort auto insurance here in PA?
We were thinking of going with full tort because some friends recently had an accident with huge medical bills not covered by the limited tort insurance they had.
Any thoughts either way? Difference is around $180/year for full tort.
