would you sand a wooden bowl?
I picked up a big old wooden mixing bowl at the Eagles Lodge twilight rummage sale this evening, but it is rough in some spots, and all weathered. Would you ever think of sanding this kind of bowl down? It isn't weathered in an attractive way, or I would leave it. It's heavy and has nice grain, but needs some TLC.

1. hell yeah, sand it smooth and oil it a few zillion times with butcher block oil
you'll have a great bowl for fruit or salad

I'd start with the finest grain I could find or even maybe with steel wool first and invest in a quart of food grade oil

:hi:

2. I'd probably sand it unless it was so old it looked like it was made
using hand tools. In that case I might get a second opinion from someone first. Wow - a rummage sale! I'm chomping at the bit for things to get going around here.
