Last one for tonight - mystery silver rings
These are both annoying and yet charming, once you figure out how they're supposed to go. It might be silver plate or chrome, feels more like silver. They are either holders for salt and pepper shakers, or for oil and vinegar cruets. Searching is tough though, since "silver rings" is so generic.

They might also just be art.

??

I cleaned them after I took this photo, they look much nicer now.

2. are they permanently interlocked?
if not, they might be napkin rings...i've seen similar designs in the table linen department of stores...if they are permanently interlocked, i like your idea of s&p or cruet holders!

they are very elegant and beautiful!

3. Yes, permanently interlocked, that's what makes them so annoying
These have been at *my* thrift store for weeks now, and everytime I would see them, I'd pick them up and try to untangle them (at first thinking they were some sort of puzzle), until finally one day it clicked and I figured out how to make them stand side-by-side. So I bought them, for all of 50 cents, I think.

Now when I look at them, they look like a wedding couple, don't they? The woman is on the left, and their arms are joined.

It's quite an elegant and simple design, I love it now.

No doubt it's intended as a wedding gift, with whatever it was that goes with it (if anything).

I've been thinking alot about why I enjoy thrifting so much, and this is one example. Usually, things are so out of context in a thrift store, everything just looks like generic "junk" and you really have to spend time looking at things individually and imagining them in their proper context (or at least I do - maybe for some it's spontaneous).
