person selling shareware on eBay
and yeah, dummy me bought a copy of this "software" which can be downloaded for free. :dunce:

It messed up my computer badly and I had a difficult time trying to remove it. I've asked for a full refund and get nothing but a bunch of blah blah blah, I have a license crap from the seller.

Why the hell does eBay allow sellers like this to go on?

I've escalated my claim with PayPal on this awhole. eBay should put him/her out of business! I wonder if it will do any good?

Does anyone happen to know if it is in fact "legal" to sell shareware? I'd think NOT!

1. Per eBay policy
It's a big No No!

Use the links above to research your problem, but am certain it's not allowed. You can contact eBay by going through either these sites, or through the Alert button at the seller's auction site for that item.

You may want to also go to the Policies forum on eBay, and state your problem (just don't link to the auction, and keep the seller anonymous so your thread won't get kicked out...sometime eBay is quirky about that.)
Anyway, there are a lot of people there that can give you good advice, and some will direct you to where you need to go for help in resolution.

I haven't heard a *peep* since I filed the next stage up complaint with PayPal. eBay has done nothing and this person is still selling this crap bootleg shareware. The person does not display the rights to a license to sell this as is directed as being critical on the above link.

I will pursue this and I thank you for directing me in the right place. I'll try calling again as well if I can find the phone # for it.

3. follow-up on this
eBay never did a thing to the seller who is still selling this crap on eBay. If he does have a license to sell it, he does not display is as required by eBay's rules I've noted.

And ... the beat goes on as does this fraud.

I never received a response to any of the complaints I filed. I ended up deciding to just forget it as I'm growing weary of all of these scammers out there, especially these days.
