We had a set of Blue Ridge dishes when I was growing up. I remember when the wooden crate arrived with all the dishes etc packed in straw. I've been able to build the set and found this web site very helpful.

2. People now collect them by the piece for display

My mother had the Yellow Nocturne pattern. I decided to try and make a set for myself to keep in a wall display rack. Several years ago I could find multiples in ebay auctions and quickly put together a set mixing in with Ridge Daisy which is similar.

I use them once in a while. And I have to tell you, the first time those dishes clanked against each other in the wash water, the sound took me right back to the old kitchen in New York. It's unique and unmistakable.

I hope your stepmom's are in decent shape. They often have ware marks from everyday use. Do you remember the colors? I think my aunt has the Wrinkled Rose pattern. They were out of it when mom tried to order. So she opted for the yellow daisy pattern.

I think my favorite pieces in the sets are the cute little tab cereal bowls.
