One of these days I will find the courage to get back to the yard sale, t-shop, flea marker routine. It is too soon now since the other half of my life died to think much about things like that. I need to cheer up and say hurrah that all your work produced a goodie or two.

1. Auction, yard sale, and freebies.

Beautiful triptych style religious print of the Ghent altarpiece, 1827!!! SCORE!!!! Vintage 60's Honda Kick-n-go chain driven scooter with hand brake .. yard sale. Handmade quilt from the islands off of SC and a nice picnic basket ... freebies! A fellow junketeer was cleaning out a room in the unused upstairs of their house. The blanket has never been used and was made specifically for my friend many many years ago, very heavy multi colored patch work in 9-squares windows style. the picnic basket is an old Gordon's Gin promo...still a quality basket.

2. I've been in St Bavo's Cathedral in Ghent, its is that one?

If so, it is magnificent. That cathedral had a more lasting impression on me than Notre Dame in Paris or St Paul's in London. There is something ancient and appealing about the church, the ornamentation inside and of course, the magnificent art in and treasure in the Crypt. The original alterpiece painting by Jan Van Eyck, one of the earliest Flemish masters, was done in 1482. It is as beautiful and vibrant now as it must have been 500 years ago. It is called "The adoration of the Mystic Lamb".

3. That's it, by Jan Van Eyck.

It is is of the top 4 panels that you see when the altar piece is closed. Has a brass tag that says 'In Loving Memory of ---- & Jasper Chasseaud, so it evidently hung in a Church building somewhere, it is in superb condition colorwise, very bright for its age.

I had to do a little research to find out about it...it is of this without the 4 rectangle sections at the bottom..
