A follow up on the paintings...
As some here might know, I found a couple of very nice 19th Century oil-on-canvas portraits at an estate sale a while ago...

Anyway, I recently auctioned the paintings and got about $300 for the portrait of the woman and about $500 for the portrait of the man. So, considering that I bought the paintings for $150 each, my net profit was about $500. Not bad. The paintings didn't go for as much as I had hoped they would but I'm happy with what I got.

1. John Henry Witt
painted several styles, including portraits, from the 1860's till the early 1900's.

If the condition of the paintings was good, I believe you sold them very cheap.
