My wife wants to start Flea Marketing ( selling) this spring...
I used to do this 30 and more years ago, and I really enjoyed it, and learned a lot from it. We have literally a ton of various stuff that I bought over the last 15 years or so to re-sell, and I'm sure we could do pretty well.
I'm retired and she is disabled, so we don't have work to worry about.

Any of you still do this in the eBay age?

1. I sell in a group shop and on ebay. I'm way too lazy to do flea markets.
Can't stand all that loading and unloading all in the same day. Sometimes I shop at flea markets for bargains to resell, but I'm basically a yard sale/dump picker.

2. Yeah, I'm not much for packing either - we will be pretty selective in the
type and number of items we take.

In the old days, a guy I knew found a very fine flow blue plate, very early 19th century, and took it to his fleamarket stand. Broke it in half while unpacking it.

You have to be careful what you take.

3. I would do that....
...if I found a co-conspirator with a big vehicle. I've done the Hadley MA flea market a few times when I was in that part of the world and it was a lot of fun (except for the mosquitoes in the grass before sunup). I'm afraid that I allowed a few real treasures to get away from me there because some buyers knew more than I did about the very old linens I had from estate auctions.

Alas, even though I have a basement full of stuff it's not for me now. The one show I would do is the local Twilight Rummage Sale at the Eagles Lodge once a month -- but they have a waiting list for tables. It's very, very popular.
