I'm trying to identify a couple of reverse applique pictures I bought at a church sale last fall. They're professionally framed and the framing job looks about 25 - 30 years old. Both are about 12" x 16". I'm thinking they're something from either Mexico, Central America or India. I doubt they have much value, but I hate to sell anything unless I've positively identified it. Maybe the world travelers who frequent this forum will recognize what they are.

1. Panama, Kuna Indians, maybe

It looks a bit like their work, although it looks to me as if the Panamanian is much more detailed.

I've never heard of Kuna Indians before. ***Edited to add - with just a brief check of the subject matter, method of construction and stitching patterns, it definitely looks like a Kuna Mola. Thanks again.

were made in Guatamala.
