A Collectible Whutzit
I found a very cute figurine for a dollar in a thrift store last summer. At first glance it appears to be a composite material, but it is, in fact, a little pottery sculpture. The sign in front of the dog says "Lady Sarah" so it must be from the Sarah Ferguson era in Great Britain. It's signed on the back, but unreadable. I can make out "Made In England" and a name that looks like "R. Haroomp"???? or something. Haroup? Maroup? It's a mystery. Probably another worthless goodie, but you never know.

1. I don't know if this will help, but Sarah was never Lady Sarah.
She was Sarah Ferguson and then Princess Andrew or the Duchess of York. She wouldn't ever have gone by Lady Sarah.

Cute figures.

3. Looks like a figurine of a "rambler"
I think that people who hike all around Great Britain are called "ramblers". This dog is dressed like a woman, so the name Lady Sarah fits. What a great attitude with the chin up and the hand dug into the pocket.

4. The attitude is what made me pick up the figurine and how I
discovered it was pottery and not composite.

5. DING! DING! DING! We have a winner!
Thanks to your suggestion "rambler," I googled "rambler dog figurine" and there it was. I couldn't find Lady Sarah on the web site, so I sent them an email with a picture. Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll turn out like the one on this auction result page.

Good luck!

7. P.S.
Here's someone who made an inquiry back in 2007. Apparently, Lady Sarah is a Red Setter from the 1986 collection.

And from this forum, she's part of "The Country Set".

From that forum, it looks like Lady Sarah is part of a unique, early set.

I searched using <Robert Harrop Lady Sarah> and got the hits.

8. I posted a message on the board before I read your message.
Maybe someone there will give me a clue as to the value. Thanks for your help. This could turn out to be a better-than-average find!

9. I think it is a better than average find
From that forum they say that this was the first set of its kind. And for a buck, she sure is a cutie.
