1. I'd love to take you up on that but I'd be very limited as to where

I could go. We have only 2 left in a reasonable driving distance that are real thrift shops. Neither has much in the way of "smalls". If I drive 20 or so miles in one direction or another, I could find one more. There are no more Goodwill stores in my area, all closed up years ago. There is one in Boston. Too far to travel. Most of what is around me now are consignment shops with very little except clothing.

Come warm weather...if it ever gets here...and yard sales and flea markets start, I'll take up your challenge. It was 22 degrees this AM here and it is now a balmy 34. Phooey, I'm cold weathered out.

2. Well, you won't believe this.

I was at the local thrift store this morning looking at books they had just put out and there, for $5, I purchased "Poems of Childhood" by Eugene Field which is illustrated by Maxfield Parrish. It's not a first edition (which is worth about $750), but probably in the $100 - 125 range.

6. That would be fun. Last summer I went to a church sale

and got a large cased glass vase from a well known glass company in Sweden. I bought it for $5.00 and sold it on Ebay for $303.00. I don't expect to find things like that very often,if ever, but the hunt for treasure is intoxicating!

7. The find du jour - no money involved.

While searching the recycling shed at the local transfer station (fka the dump), I found a an older, nice quality, 14k yellow gold pin! In the same little box was some Canadian money. I love recycling!

8. I'm glad I tried this out

Wednesday is Senior Day at the Mile High Thrift. Two of my three items qualified for 50% off.

First, I picked up 5 glasses that are the size used for highballs. They have a two tone green jungle leaf design in green and chartreuse. $1.95 total. They're pretty thin and won't last long around here but are real cute for juice glasses this summer.

Then I found a clear glass vintage fruit juicer. It's in perfect condition and albeit pricey at $4.95 my cost, I was glad to finally find one at a thrift.

Last, I picked up a ceramic vase that's heavy and looks hand thrown. $2.98. There's no signature on the bottom but there's a deep, clean little notch in the bottom rim on the front that looks like it might be the signature. It's too cloudy today to take a good photo. But this is the shape of the notch signature.
