I have an Ebay *search* question.

I know you can refine a search to within *x* miles within a specific category, say ... computer hard drives. But can you search all of Ebay at one time for all items for sale within *x* number of miles of a given zip code? As an example can you find any and all items for sale within 50 miles of ZIP code 33601?

Thanks in advance.

1. when you search you can decide how to list the results
ie ending soonest, new listing etc. one of the choices is distance, it will list everything by closest first with milage from your location

good luck :hi:

2. Yes, you can search by x number of miles from a zip
Two ways.

One is to use the Advanced Search option and scroll down to "Items Near Me". You can select miles from a drop down menu, and enter zip code there.

OR

If you are in a search, look to the left frame. Scroll down there and you get the same option.

3. I think the answer is a qualified yes
But you *have* to enter something in the Search term box -- you cannot leave it blank.

So, it's a matter of trying to figure out the most generic search term.

One example would be to put this in the search box: (a,e,i,o,u)

and then specify the distance (minmum is 10 miles from a zip).

That should turn up any item with that distance from your zip, that contains either an a, e, i, o or u in the title (and/or description). I suppose you could add more letters/numbers to be more thorough, and then just save the search.

It's an interesting exercise to see how many local ebay sellers there are eh? I'm very surprised to see not too many near me. No wonder I can find such cool stuff in the thrift stores!! :D
