6. There's a "Claude Conover" who made pottery

He's listed in the Cleveland School of pottery makers. http://www.markbassett.com/cleveland_school.htm

That's all I can find so far. But I can't find a makers mark for him.

7. I'm thinking it's more commercial than studio

I feel as if I have seen that mark before. Grrrr.
