Does anyone know about ice cream scoops and/or Georg Jensen?
Yesterday I found a mid-century modern looking ice cream scooper at the thrift shop. The scoop part is stainless steel and the handle part is heavy, white plastic. On the very end of the handle it's stamped "Georg Jensen." I know Georg Jensen silver items go for big bucks, but I can't find anything about nonsilver ice cream scoops. In any case, I paid a whopping $1 for it so I imagine I'm ahead of the game.

1. Never saw one like that
But I'm always buying scoops from the thrift like the ones made by Etobicoke Castings. They're sturdy aluminum and all one piece. They work great because some ice cream is hard frozen.

Good luck with finding out about yours. Could it be a Bakelite handle?

2. P.S. There's an ice scoop at Replacemnts.com
But there's isn't a photo, just an illustration. The scoop end looks similar to an ice cream scoop we have from the mid 1970. More broad than rounded. So maybe you have his ice scoop.

3. Thanks for looking, but that's not the one.
The one I found looks more like a traditional ice scoop. In retrospect, I'm not even sure why I picked it up and was surprised beyond belief to see Georg Jensen's name on it. I might put it on ebay as an auction and see what happens.

4. Sounds like a good plan
His collectors would surely see it as a rare find since there isn't anything on the net that I can find.

While searching I saw an ice cream fork of his on ebay. A wicked little device! =:-0
