Does anyone watch "Ax Men" on the History Channel?
The new season started and I thought that the segments with the man who retrieves old cypress logs from the swamps north of New Orleans the most interesting.

His personality is a little bit over the top. But the whole thing about the logs themselves, how he finds and gets them out and how valuable they are for furniture making fascinated me.

I was cleaning out my fibber mcgee of a pantry/storage closet when the program aired. I'd leave to clean out something during the other segments but came running back when his segment was on.

1. :raises hand:
I watch it. I have for a while now. I agree with you about the Cajun guy. I also like the show "Swamp Loggers" They get lumber out of very wet locations in eastern North Carolina. My son lives there now and it is, indeed, swampy.

Have you seen Madhouse yet? About small time racers Winston-Salem, NC's Bowman Gray Stadium's 1/4 mile track. Gasoline and testosterone cocktails with a Jesus garnish.

2. I haven't seen Swamp Loggers
Sounds like I'd enjoy it. I see it's a Discovery Channel show. Thanks for the tip.

I did catch a minute of Madhouse but can't handle those good old boys. They sound like the people Joe Bageant writes about. :D
