Prints with foxing.
I picked up an old book about the Civil War dated 1865. Surprisingly, it's worth very little, but it has some great engravings I could frame if I knew how to get rid of foxing. Apparently bleach is out. Has anyone ever tried restoring prints or might know about this?

2. It doesn't say. Just that they were works of various artists
that were engraved exclusively for Abbott's Civil War. There are also some old maps that could be framed if I can figure out how to get rid of the foxing. I've got a couple of things to try. One was to simply wet the page with water and set it out in the sun. Another is using peroxide. Apparently the foxing is actually a mold of some sort - which I didn't realize. Once before I tried a light bleach mixture on something which worked very well, but when I went to read up on it the first thing I saw was "whatever you do, don't use bleach."
