Anyone here ever sell jewelry using the internet?
I have a piece recently valued at $ 1,750 that I would like to sell.

Diamond ring with platinum band.

Anyone have any ideas?

1. do you have a written appraisal?
I'm not a jewelry seller, but if I were a jewelry buyer long-distance, I think I might want that.

If you nose around eBay, you can see what kind of measures are taken for authenticity.

Sounds like a nice ring. Did a jeweler or appraiser put the value on it? If so, did they tell you what you should expect to get if you sell in? Quite often, if a diamond ring is appraised at $1750, you might only get $500-$1000 for it when doing a quick sale.

You can try selling it on ebay, but ebay is loaded with thousands of diamond rings for sale every day, so your ring would have to have something special going for it for it to get enough attention. If you sell it on ebay or elsewhere online, you really should have some papers authenticating the diamond and what type of cut it is.

BTW, platinum is worth more than gold, so that's a plus.
