Need the name of a good reference book. Can't seem to find what
I need. I have an old biscuit or cracker jar that is pale translucent blue with floral painting on one side. It is blown in 4 bulbous curves, wider at top than bottom, then narrowing so the cover will fit over.
The cover was plated at one time but now looks like pewter.
I am planning to consign this jar but I need to find out what it is. I know there is a wild world of glass out there and I don't know where to start.
It may not even be Mt Washington. (Could be Pairpoint.) Could be anything. It was my mothers and she always referred to it as M/W

I can usually pull up helpful key words for on-line searches but am striking out on this.
Any guidance will be appreciated.

1. I wish I knew of one, Paper Roses. I had a similar jar last year
and couldn't find out much about it.

2. I always start with google images. Try "Mt Washington Jar"
in google images and see if you can find something similar.Just a suggestion.

3. here's a start

Mt. Washington Glass Works Crown Milano glass cracker biscuit jar of ribbed, melon form in a satin finish with a buff color shading to orange and with hand painted oak leaf decoration. The collar, swing handle and cover are of pewter. Condition is excellent with no chips or cracks to the glass and the decoration is crisp. The cover is Mt. Washington and is stamped "MW 537," however, there is some play in its fitting, and it may be a marriage from another jar. Size: 6.5" diameter x 8.75" high with handle raised. Glass is unmarked. Circa 1880s-1890s.
