We cleared up a few of my questions including length of listing, etc. When I took him to the room where all this stuff is placed, he went through each piece, told me what it was, put what he would take into the kitchen. We had a good list of stuff. I wrote it up while he was bringing it out to wrap. He took the best stuff and I am glad of that. He does not take anything he thinks might sell under $25.00 or so. Also did not take some of the more common Waterford stuff or any of the small hand painted. His reasoning is that the return after commission and fees would be too low. Seems logical to me.
I still have a fair amount of salable items but I will find another outlet or save it for a big antiques flea market that starts in the spring. My kids have volunteered to help.
The only thing I regret he did not take are the wonderful woven cotton old Bates and Fieldcrest bedspreads. He said he does not deal in linens. Fair enough.
If this merchandise sells for a fair price I will be happy. Altogether a good experience.
