I had no idea that what you bought as a buyer was trackable
I have just started buying on Ebay and I have been concentrating in one particular area of interest with some happy success. I have been buying only for myself or as gifts with no idea of resale - but I was a little disconcerted when I was reading my own buyer feedback to discover that all my purchases are listed within the feed back. I can deal with that, but, I'm just a little surprised.

I started reading other people's feedback and found it almost disconcerting to see what they were buying as a group of purchases. Does everyone need to know what you collect or what you might be giving as gifts or what your taste is or high you usually bid?

1. they just started doing that...
Before, they just linked the item number and it would take some effort (and who cares?) to click on the link to see what you've bought.

Now, for reasons I'm not very clear on, they list what the item is for (I think) 90 days. I don't like it, either - it seems strangely intrusive.

2. not only that....
...but you can find out what a member has bid on in the last thirty days whether or not he/she won the auction.

All of those are useful tools, I think, for sellers.

3. You may find that you get emails from sellers
alerting you to auctions that they have for similar items. I've had that happen quite a few times when I was bidding on things in a narrow field. I don't particularly mind if it's just a "heads-up" email, but you might not want the clutter in your in box. I doubt that very many sellers go to the effort to do that.

4. I think that's against ebay rules.
At least it used to be - maybe with all the changes that's been modified too. If it becomes too annoying, you might want to check on that and start alerting ebay if it is indeed still against the rules.

5. This bothers me too
I'm a lot more careful when buying gifts for others -- surprise gifts that I don't want them to know about, which if they looked at my profile they'd see.

Really stupid move on ebay's part, imho.
