Speaking of old stamps and old coins, sometimes you are
surprised. I never found anything in the stamp field but totally by accident, I made money in a strange way on a bag of old coins.

For $1.00 at a yard sale, I bought a zip-lock bag full of coins from other countries. The owner was moving and had all sorts of household stuff for sale.

I checked them out and found no antique coins in the lot. However...There were a bunch of French Franc coins and we were going to Paris or a long overdue vacation, our first to anywhere outside the states.

We had to walk all over Paris to find a bank that would still accept them as currency. There were only a few more days during which you could change Franc coin's into currency. They gave us 147.00 Euro for our pile. It was a fun story. .

of the bills and some coins.

2. They actually gave the US Soldiers a chance to buy the currency
my brother brought back quite a bit of it from his first tour over there.

3. That is interesting...
he just gave it to me
and said, 'Maybe this
will be worth something
some day'. He never says
much about his times over
there other than 'we had
no business there in the
first place'.
