though, gotta play the hand you're dealt. Even though I've never been good at that.
What absolutely tears me apart and makes me burn with rage is that not only have we been manipulated and choreographed into the situation we're in, most of us were unaware that it was happening, and even now, huge majorities of people don't believe it. And those of us who do, wail and keen, but usually to no avail. Our reps do what THEY can, and this President just rides roughshod over them as though they didn't even exist.
I've had a bumper sticker on my car for the past 4 years that says "stop bitching - start a revolution". This is probably what attracted me to Ron Paul in the beginning - a feeling of deep NEED to knock it all down and start all over. Fuck the rest of the world for the moment, we have to fix ourselves - we're broken.
We care about more than making history now - which is why we were for Joe - we were going for substance and someone who engaged us as partners.
That being said, despite all the horror and the deceit we've been subjected to, the fact that the people ARE considering a woman and a black man for President is indicative that more and more people have had it with the status quo. Granted, it's become a circus, but that the "celebrities" involved are a woman and an African American is saying a lot. It would have been unheard of not too many years ago. And even though we'd say "some day there will be a woman in the White House" (never even CONSIDERED the possibility of a black guy), I don't think too many of us believed it. I think people realize that our situation is serious -- just not HOW serious and how close we are to imploding.
I'm totally with you on the revolution. I would take to the streets and fight to return our country to what it was designed to be.
I just don't know how to accomplish that at this point in time. Joe was my hope for the first step.
When people talk about a brokered convention, even though I don't get it, a little hope in my heart goes "Biden!".
Honest to god, I'm praying that whoever gets in the WH WILL say enough! We know Joe, Dodd, Boxer and others are there doing what they can. And we need to get them more people in the Senate and Congress.
I don't know what else to do at this time.
But really, I deeply understand how you feel.
What should we do?
