I hate to even post this, but

it's from cnn.com - the breakdown by candidate of funds raised, spent, on hand. I don't understand how/when Dodd and Richardson received more than Biden. What have I missed? What have they done that we haven't?

Edit to add a PS: Kucinich is down followed only by Gravel. He seems to have slipped a lot. Maybe he couldn't afford to attend the debate in Iowa, Debi.

1. Taken more corporate money???
I don't know what the answer is Gateley.

I can't help but wonder if the people in charge of the fundraising for his campaign aren't doing enough - not going at it in the right way. Something is not right.

And what's sad is that they are not on target to meet Biden's goal of 21k before Feb. :(

3. There has to be another way to raise money other than asking supporters for it.

I don't know the first thing about political fundraising, but it seems like something is missing.

I wish Biden would talk about it more on the campaign trail how he doesn't receive much money from corporations and lobbyists and how he is depending on donations from people.

Edwards just signed up for public financing. I wonder what that all means? I know he took some criticism for that.

Anyway - we will have to finish this discussion tomorrow. I gotta get some sleep.

4. Transfers from previous Senate/Gubernatorial accounts?
I know that's where Dodd got $$ from in the last quarter.

5. These figure were from June 30th
What are the new figures? Course we know Biden gets precious little attention now. Remember when in years past Dems were complaining that Biden got too much face time on TV? It is up to Iowa and NH to speak for most of us. Weird huh? Nothing against those 2 States, they figure they are a good representation of the U.S. Wish we could get face time with candidates. Doesn't seem fair. Silly me, fair?

8. How does a candidate compete when they have only a couple of million
with candidates that have 40 to 60 million to convince us they are great. Biden is so far behind. His cash is not even interest on the millions the top 2 have. The masses are impressed with "window dressing". Ya gotta wonder how anyone can get that kind of money to run for President. Notice how the repubs have fewer millions than the Dems. The "big boys" are putting the money where they can get the most bang for their bucks.

9. They want to buy future influence
so they back a winner. If a candidate moves up in the polls they become a money magnet. It looks like a big game to me and I wish corporate money was out of the election process once and for all.

10. Biden has said that the amount of money being raised in this campaign
is OBSCENE. It truly is. It might be good if he played that up a bit more.

I had a Hillary supporter respond to a post of mine by saying Hillary got her donations through grassroots campaigning just like everybody else.
Well, HER grassroots denizens are fat cats.

The more I learn of her the more uncomfortable I am with the idea of her becoming president. In all seriousness, I find her power and ability to get so many big names to support her a little frightening.

11. Yeah, she's gotten pretty scary
She is a GOOD politician and that can get people elected, but she hasn't demonstrated that she would be a good public servant. She might make an excellent president, but thus far she hasn't given me any evidence to support that.

12. Her vote for the Kyl/Lieberman vote scared the crap out of me.
Especially after reading that those inside the Bush administration were against it...but Cheney was pushing it.

I hope Biden and ALL of the other candidates bring it up every chance they get.

If it comes down to Obama v Hillary - I will work hard for Obama.

13. I have been asking the same question.
It's all going to come down to air time, and Biden is screwed.
