Feb 10 (Reuters) - Venezuelans will vote on Sunday in a referendum on scrapping term limits and allowing socialist President Hugo Chavez to stay in power for as long as he keeps winning elections.
Chavez is popular among the oil-exporting nation's poor for a slew of social projects that have raised living standards and help explain why voters may yet hand him the chance to continue as president for years to come.
Chavez, who took power a decade ago, says he needs more time to wipe out poverty and deepen reforms. If he wins on Sunday, he will be able to run for at least another six-year term in 2012.
