1. OH, Jees! This is terrific.
Have seen the first article's beginning, just as I have to run. I am so glad to see them take up this grotesque impostor's life struggle for study. "Disgraced fraud pollster." NOW YOU'RE TALKING!

Really, REALLY looking forward to reading this later this evening. Cannot believe one of our Presidential candidates even dared to speak to any of these people, much less engage them professionally.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

3. Btw, speaking of money laundering, is anyone watching the Stanford case
and noticing that Death Squads Negroponte himself approved the SEC waivers? Check out #32 and following on this thread:

6. Jeez! Me, too! Didn't know Negroponte was giving out SEC waivers...
This puts a whole new light on a lot of things. Here are the two links from that #32 comment:

MAY 23, 2006
Intelligence Czar Can Waive SEC Rules
Now, the White House's top spymaster can cite national security to exempt businesses from reporting requirements

Anyone remember this item from Business Week more than two years ago? The White House authorized the intelligence czar (Negroponte at the time) discretion to grant secret waivers on all SEC rules for any company. National security apparently requires money laundering and cooked books. That would give incredible advantages to such a company in its dealings on the closed markets of derivatives. Wonder if any of the heavyweights involved in the current crisis are among the beneficiaries, and what impact this may have had? Was this the beginning of plunder operations in advance of the inevitable crash? Can companies who received such waivers still present cooked books as the derivatives now unwind? Will the DNI have the authority to block investigations of criminal behavior by protected financial players?

My first thought was: And people wonder why Chavez sought broad financial powers? He needed to protect Venezuelan financial institutions, businesses and investors from this kind of Bushwhack shite, and likely knew a lot more about what Negroponte & brethren were up to than he could say publicly. I remember thinking this about the financial powers included in the 69-amendment package in Dec 07 (that lost narrowly). I think I wrote that Venezuelans would live to regret that vote, because the Bushwhacks were not going to give up trying to destroy Venezuela and would come at them in many ways, including financial. Luckily, Chavez found other ways to protect Venezuela from this induced economic meltdown.

My second thought was: I wonder if this is related to the current scandal in Bolivia--in which the CIA seems to have been throwing around hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes, possibly to destroy Bolivia's oil company. See the Associated Pukes' article I added to Judy's thread...

7. This doesn't even seem possible. This article is like a trip to the Twilight Zone.
Referring to your BusinessWeek link:

AUTHORITY GRANTED. William McLucas, the Securities & Exchange Commission's former enforcement chief, suggested that the ability to conceal financial information in the name of national security could lead some companies "to play fast and loose with their numbers." McLucas, a partner at the law firm Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr in Washington, added: "It could be that you have a bunch of books and records out there that no one knows about."

The memo Bush signed on May 5, which was published seven days later in the Federal Register, had the unrevealing title "Assignment of Function Relating to Granting of Authority for Issuance of Certain Directives: Memorandum for the Director of National Intelligence." In the document, Bush addressed Negroponte, saying: "I hereby assign to you the function of the President under section 13(b)(3)(A) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended."

A trip to the statute books showed that the amended version of the 1934 act states that "with respect to matters concerning the national security of the United States," the President or the head of an Executive Branch agency may exempt companies from certain critical legal obligations. These obligations include keeping accurate "books, records, and accounts" and maintaining "a system of internal accounting controls sufficient" to ensure the propriety of financial transactions and the preparation of financial statements in compliance with "generally accepted accounting principles."
Bush and company really did a number on the country. This is unbelievable.

N.Y.T. and Irony: Together In Perfect Harmony!

It's an excellent reminder, seeing that segment, to get busy and watch the entire documentary again. That film needs to be revisited from time to time, to keep it all fresh in memory.

~~~~~~~~~~
What God hath wrought, if Linda Robinson herself sees some problems with Douglas Schoen's book.
I sure as hell hope he reads her review.
This is a terrific note from BoRev on his book. Didn't know he attempted to write one. Lucky world to have such brilliance within it. No doubt it will be standing beside Ann Coulter's masterpieces in bookstores in no time at all.
Douglas Schoen, so handsome now that he's lost some weight.
