Honduras' de facto president, Roberto Micheletti, said he's “totally satisfied” after a three-hour dialogue with Costa Rican President Oscar Arias and has left for Honduras.
But Micheletti departed without any face-to-face time with his deposed predecessor, Manuel Zelaya.
Outside Arias' San José house, Micheletti told reporters his country's Nov. 29 election will be respected and that the “election process will be safe and transparent.”
Micheletti has left a delegation behind to work, with Arias as mediator, to hammer out an agreement with Zelaya. After Micheletti's talk with Arias finished, dialog resumed again at about 5 p.m. and is still ongoing.
“The agenda is being developed,” said Costa Rican Communications Minister Mayí Antillón.
