What happened to Magbana? Just curious.
With everything happening in Haiti I miss her posts? Did she just change her name? Also, it is nice to see so many informed woman posting here. I'll have to admit to my unintended prejudices. I thought many here were men only to find out they are wonderful intelligent women! Nothing against men, but men so dominate in journalism or any writing that is its nice to see more and more woman busting through.

1. She's been involved in what's been happening in Haiti, and Honduras, etc.
Here's her blog on Haiti:
HAITI-CUBA-VENEZULA ANALYSIS

http://hcvanalysis.wordpress.com

and her Honduras blog:
http://hondurasoye.wordpress.com/

She also is an activist in Washington, wildly busy all the time.

When I saw the Haitian ambassador kissing Michelle Obama's hand at the State of the Union address, I thought of magbana, because she knows him.

She really gets around!

I hope she'll keep us in mind and check in from time to time if it's possible. I really enjoy her writing, too, amyrose.

5. I recall she said that ALBA was going to intervene in the Honduras crisis
she also posted here she liked Ahmadenijad. I suspect she is Downwinder but not sure.

I imagine since the Honduras crisis didn't work out too well for her she will turn her attention to Haiti and Venezuela and blaming the US for everything like many of the other "Democrats" here at DU.

8. that's what she said PP, and yousay the US and/or Colombia will invade Venezuela
within 2 years. I think your prediction will be as accurate as Magbana's ALBA prediction.

14. Hey B39. Ecuador is beautiful, excepting a few pockets of desperate urban poverty, like the USA.
They don't deal in US dollars there.

15. hey Mika, some people say that Ecuador has used US dollars since 2000
Edited on Mon Feb-01-10 09:41 PM by Bacchus39
I could have sworn that is what I used in November. I'd agree with the beauty part. I think there is alot of rural poverty there too. You might want to visit the country side more. Nice place though. but I don't think there is much comparison between poverty in the US and poverty in the Ecuador.

US Dollar was accepted as the national currency of Ecuador on January, 2000, thereby replacing Sucre, the initial Ecuador Currency. It was nationally adopted in Ecuador from September, 2000. http://www.mapsofworld.com/ecuador/currency.html

7. I am honored, but I am afraid your suspicions are unfounded.
Since she now has two sites, it would appear that the Honduras crisis worked out well for her.

4. I spoke to her via email as I generally email her when one of her predictions
turns out to be true -- which is much more often than not. She sounds nice and busy. :)
